**Beware** of Central Rug & Carpet, 3006 Central Rd., Evanston, Illinois!!!!!!
I was a faithful employee of CENTRAL RUG & CARPET, 3006 CENTRAL ROAD, EVANSTON, ILLINOIS , since 2003. Late last year it was sold to Tom Iskalis. The name was changed to Bodala - DBA as Central Rug. The new owner met with the employees and promised great things for the future, but that's about as far as the honeymoon went.
Things changed very quickly. Most of the employees either quit or were discharged soon after Iskalis took over.
I was discharged on Feb. 28, 2008, because I was looking for another place of employment.
Here is where the beware part comes in. I was sent a letter offering COBRA continuation health insurance. I immediately accepted and returned the signed acceptance with my check for $1084 which they immediately cashed. They also accepted and cashed my checks for April and May of 2008, but they never put me on COBRA. They carried me on their group health plan as if I were still an employee until May 1, 2008, when their policy was cancelled, ( maybe cancelled by BLue Cross for non payment of premium).
So they took my $1084 for May of 2008, and never gave me the insurance coverage. Blue Cross advised that I had no coverage for the month of May 2008, and that all of my doctor visits, hospital proceedures and drug perscriptions that were initially paid might now be reversed and ulitmately I'll be responsible for payment; even though I paid my premiums on time everytime.
I turned the matter over to the US Dept. of Labor. Their phone calls to Mr Iskallis were ignored and he actually hung up on them on the last call. They turned the matter over for investigation to their criminal division.
This is only the tip of the iceburg in a long list of things these new owners are doing to people. As time goes on I'll post some of their other deeds. In the mean time if you are planning to purchase any flooring in the near future I'd highly recommend you find another company to deal with. You never know what could happen with your deposit $$ if you give it to Central Rug!!!

We have been the new owners of Central Rug for the past year. To our knowledge we have NEVER had a customer give us a deposit where they have never received the product or services. If this has happened we truly apologize Please have the customer call the management to remedy this situation immediately.
