Things started out well, but ended on a very sour note. I should have known something was not going to go well when what Nina considered a contract was actually a piece of paper with her notes on them. When I asked her about a contract, she said "this is the contract", though there was no place for me to sign off on our flower brainstorming session. This is why it's SO important folks to get an official contract and I definitely blame myself for that part, but I also took Nina's word that the changes we made over the phone about a week before the wedding would be included in on this so-called contract. I was also told by Nina if I paid cash for my flowers then I would not have to pay tax or delivery. The wedding day arrives and I discover at the time of my bouquet toss that there is not an actual a bouquet for me to toss. It was the only thing that went wrong that day and I was embarrassed as people looked around for these flowers that evidently did not exist. Ultimately I used one of the bridesmaids bouquets and things seemed to work out, but I was upset. Fast forward one and a half month's later - I got to thinking that I needed to let Nina know that the toss bouquet was missing so I called her to discuss. She took it VERY personal that I was accusing her of forgetting my toss bouquet and that I wanted a refund, because to me, I paid for this bouquet, even if it was only $35. She proceeded to say, well, I never got a thank you note from you so I figured something was wrong. Did Nina ever call me to find out if I was satisfied as my other vendors did? No. Then she proceeded to complain that she had to fill up 96 mini bud vases with water, is this not her job as a florist? She offered to do this prior to the wedding, but along with the toss bouquet, she must have forgotten. I requested she send over a copy of the contract, you know the one with the last minute notes on it from the week before the wedding and suddenly the last minute notes paper is missing. I told her I would owe her an apology if she could just help me understand how my money was spent on each of the different types of flowers, and she said are you accusing me of charging you more money? I said "no, but I do want to get a better understanding of where my money was spent". She then said she had someone in her shop and I said "no problem, please call me when you are done with your client" and she replied "no, I don't think I will". I said "is this how you are going to leave the situation?" She replied "yes it is". So please be careful with this florist who can't remember to staple last minute changes to an order form or who is unwilling to discuss how your money is spent on her flowers or who suddenly decides to complain about having to fill up mini bud vases. Nina turned out to be an extremely unprofessional florist which is too bad because word of mouth is EVERYTHING!
