I'm new to this whole "running" thing. I wouldn't really call myself a "runner" yet, more like "one who runs occaisionaly" (a marked improvement from my previous status as "one who will only run when chased"). So for now, I don't really need to spend $120 on a super cute high tech moisture wicking running ensemble. No, my ratty sweats and $5 old navy tank will work just fine.
I do plan to buy some good running shoes here though. While I can get away with cheapo running clothes, I know better than to mess with the quality of my shoes. From what I have witnessed, the staff really seems to care about getting you into the right shoe. I've watched them spend 15 minutes explaining different shoes and measuring a customer's feet. Seems like pretty good service to me.
I've been coming for the Wednesday night "Fun Runs" and slowly learning that the term is not an oxymoron as I previously thought. I think what I really like about this store is that in addition to caring about making money off their customers, like all stores, they also seem to actually care about their customers and about running. Along with the fun runs they also offer free seminars (with free food), free injury screenings, and when you rack up enough mileage at the fun runs, you get free stuff!
