I went to this Lumes today 8-10-09, at 12:00 for breakfeast. I received my Spinach Omelet and took two bites and it was hair in it. I took the manager and she told me to order something else. I ordered a salad and was told I had to pay for it. This is bad business! I know you are suppose to be compensated for the restraurants mistake, but the manager told me they do not do that. My compensation was that I did not have to pay for the omelet with hair in it. That's funny! I don't know anyone who would pay for food with hair. I was told to pay for the salad, which I did not eat or pay for. Lumes does not have any ethics. I would never go back there again.
Lume’s is an absolutely wonderful breakfast dining experience! It’s a small sized breakfast dining place located on the south side of Chicago. It’s small but not so small that you can’t enjoy the ambience of breakfast. Even though the restaurant may be crowded, don’t be intimidated or discouraged by a possible wait time because you will be given a hearty welcome and will be waited on promptly to place your name on the waiting list. On busy Saturday & Sunday mornings, the average wait time is twenty minutes but it is well worth the wait! The wait staff is very polite and professional and your food will be served quickly straight from the grill! I encourage everyone who either lives near Lume’s or is passing through the area to give Lume’s a visit! They will be waiting to welcome you!
Pros : Location is great!
Cons : They have a nice sized parking lot but it may be a challenge.
