Delicious Thai by ameen a. at InsiderPages
If you are looking for a good place to get some delicious thai food, Penny's is a great option. They have lots of great thai dishes here, all for very reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is small and well kept. The service is fast but if you go during a busy night, you might have to wait a bit because seating is limited. However, the wait is sure worth it because the food is really yummy and one of the best in town. Try to use public transportation, because parking can be hard to find in the area.

Not very authentic
I searched Citysearch.com to look for fun places to eat, and tried out Penny's because it received such great reviews. But I was highly disappointed. The food was not very good, everything tasted slightly sweet or otherwise bland. I ordered the Rad Nha with chicken (sp.) The only good thing was the dessert, which I'm sure they did not make.

bad take out service
Im very disapppinted to know that the take out order I took was wrong. I stopped by at this location to get 2 SOUP NOODLES in a bowl. I know I ordered soup noodels because I am sick and can only eat soup. I came home to find that both orders were wrong. I called and spoke to the girl who took my order and she insisted that she took the order right. I corrected her and told her that I specifically ordered the SOUP noodles. I tehn asked for the manager, only to be told that the manager isnt there, and when i asked for the name of the owner, she couldnt even tell me then proceeded to tell me that there are two owners! It took a while before she can give me their names! When I asked for the time that their drivers will be available to pick these wrong orders and give me the correct ones, she gave me more excuses! I am very disaappointed about the service from this location and will not go back nor recommend this spot!

DISGUSTING
Please save your money and appetite and DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! A good friend that I haven't seen in a while and myself decided to stop at this cute, quaint, and inviting thai restaurant for dinner, BAD IDEA. For starters the service was sub-par, mediocre. The wait staff was hesitant to make suggestions regarding the entrees. I now understand why... We started with the Japanese Gyroza. It was edible to say the least. They served it with bitter imitation soy sauce YUCK! Because we were indecisive and uncertain regarding what to order (thanks to the "HELP" of the wait staff) we decided to share two entrees. The Pad Su Eu and Hot pepper Noodles were the winners or shall I say LOSERS! I can describe the taste in one word NASTY!!!!!!!! The Pad su eu was SWEET. As though someone had dumped a pound of sugar into it and it was near black, burnt and sweet, GROSS! The Red pepper noodle... tolerable but not much better than the pad su eu. I honestly couldn't tell if it was done. When it was brought to the table my friend immediately replied ?It looks bland and undone". The beef looked gray similar to that of dog food. The egg noodles were good but it was smothered in some unappealing transparent SALTY sauce. EW! At the very end of the meal we were still hungry and decided to order more Gyroza because it was all we could appreciate there. I?m not sure if we were both completely mental but even those didn't taste too great the second time around. The entire restaurant experience ruined the mood of my girl and I We were so excited to see each other and eat somewhere new and different. Let's just say the excitement passed. This place is inviting and convenient but please SAVE YOUR DOLLARS AND APPETITE. IT?S NOT WORTH IT. IT'S NOT GOOD!!!!!

Consistently good Thai food by Elizabeth C. at InsiderPages
Always a great go-to for quick and good Thai food. My favorite is the Thom Khai Ka soup and spicy basil with chicken noodles. We lived close to the Lakeview location and found ourselves there once a week. We have tried the Diversey location too but prefer the Lakeview spot.

go somewhere else for good authentic thai food
we keep on passing this restaurant and we decided to give it a try since there are always people eating there. But do not be deceive, the food is below average. I had the pad thai and I hated it, it is not an authentic pad thai, its so westernized, and my friend had the pepper beef and it was awful, it was so sweet that we thought they dump a sugar in there, i do not think pepper beef is supposed to be sweet. there are a lot of good thai food in chicago. go somewhere else it is so overrated.
